Overall Review: Plays high demanding games fairly well at medium to high graphics (BF4, medium) at 25-60 fps, you'll see better performance and higher frame rates with it plugged in over just running on the battery, for the price I got it for im very impressed with it, I use it daily and love it. 5400 rpm hard drive, but it preforms fairly well for its class, other than those small things i would recommend this computer to and casual gamer or someone who hates slow computers. After about three months, the laptop fans kick in loudly and runs continuously even though it's sitting idle with no programs running. I'm in the process of sending it in the for 3rd time.Ĥ. As soon as I turned on the computer after the RMA, the issues were still there. I sent in for RMA twice, and they said the issues have been fixed. The laptop would charge to 95-98% range and just stop there with a message "Plugged in but not charging"ģ. Second unit came with broken headphone jack and battery that won't charge to 100%.
Returned to newegg and quickly got a new one.Ģ. First unit arrived DOA with broken keyboard.

Overall Review: Overall is a great laptop, it's just that there were some software issues like the outdated BIOS mentioned above that caused the hardware to stop working with the main board.

Once I did that update there were no more problems. A newer version than what was already on the laptop. I figured out that ASUS had a BIOS update for the laptop on it's website. Apparently ASUS replace the motherboard but the same problem happened again three months later.

I had to RMA my laptop twice because something went wrong with the GT 745m graphics card and was able to get free shipping the first time. The processor, although dual core, it still has 4 hyperthreads and I was able to do some good content creationĬons: This laptop is great but although not without it's faults, it's mostly due to software issues really, the hard ware if great. It comes with a 128gb sd and a 1TB HDD so you will not sacrifice space. I recommend you get the WD Black2 dual drive.

I do recommend that you do upgrade the HDD later down the road to a Hybrid Drive. The Touchscreen panel is an IPS display and have great color reproduction and anything on it looks great.
The graphics card in it is a middle class one but I was able to play GTA V no medium settings with no issues and is good for light competitive games like League of Legends and Heroes of the Storm. It has a great built quality with an brushed aluminum finish. It was fast and worked great even with the 1TB HDD. Pros: I bought this laptop brand new in 2014.
